In-slab heating can be used with most floor coverings, but it is especially popular beneath polished concrete and tiled floors. Heating cables are fixed to the reinforcing steel just prior to slab pouring. For living areas with polished/burnished concrete floor finishes, solid timber, or tiles installed without a screed.
In-screed heating is the popular choice for living areas that are having a sand and cement screed to level up the floor, prior to laying large format, rectified or stone tiles. With this system the heating cables are fixed to the slab prior to screeding and then are fully protected during the tiling process.
Under-tile heating is a popular choice in renovations where floor height is critical, or where no screed is being applied. Under-tile heating is also a direct acting system, warming up quickly so it is suitable for using just a few hours a day or on an ad-hoc basis to suit your requirements.....
